Suba Impreza XV test drive. Suba fans are already accustomed to the fact that Impreza is a great sedan or golf -class hatchback. Now this car has acquired the XV XV Ix Vi, and with it an increased road clearance. The creators claim that in front of us is a crossover. Is this so, we planned to check during our test drive. From the point of view of marketing, the logic of the Japanese is very simple: the price of a hatchback in the crossover segment will be quite competitive. However, the new niche is full of worthy and serious rivals. But in the Land of the Rising Sun, the creators of Impreza have their own strong design school and good traditions. Reliable and powerful opposite engines that are similar only to Porsche and advanced all -wheel drive systems — give good chances for a successful start Impreza as a crossover. In addition, it was the opposite engine, thanks to which the center of gravity of the car is shifted down, which allowed to lift the body painlessly and increase the clearance from 155 to 185 mm, and exclusively for Russia (in other countries, the clearance was increased by only 20 mm). In addition to the clearance, Impreza XV increased the angles of the fracture and congress/entry, which positively affected off -road tests.

The appearance of the Impreza XV turned out to be athletics. The body did not undergo special changes — the dimensions remained the same, but the newly made crossover looks massive and impressive. Largely thanks to the body kit made of unpainted plastic, roof rails, aggressive bumper. The novelty looks impressive, muscular and tightened. Impreza fans will not have to get used to the new interface, transplanting into a hatchback crossover. Solid nodes and forms of the cabin, its steering wheel, the layout of the front panel and other details are recognized by many adherents of the Suba of the last generations. Convenient, excellently defiled and reliably fixing the body of a cap with a head of the headrests growing from the backs are part of the basic configuration. The salon is rustic, but collected efficiently and without any complaints about ergonomics. There is everything necessary for life. The cabin is still also spacious and comfortable, but the rolling roof does not press the back of the back passengers. Because of the central tunnel, only two will be able to comfortably accommodate. You can’t call the trunk either outstanding, even adjusted for a full -sized spare. Its volume of only 310 liters or 1130 liters, if you fold the backs of the rear seats.
