The Italian Ernesto Vita appeared for the season-90 with an ambitious purpose: to show how much the W12 engine he developed. However, he managed to show only his incompetence: the team could not overcome the qualifications for a single time, lagging behind the leaders by 30–40 seconds per circle per circle. The Apotheosis became the Grand Prix of Portugal: Vita brought new motors that turned out to be too large and did not fit in the car.
