Like everyone, our hearts are broken for Australia right now. However we continue to be encouraged by the leadership, generosity, empathy and activism shown by Australian and global communities.⠀ __ Last month, a group of committed architects met as part of the Architects Declare, Architects Act movement. We worked collaboratively through ideas on how to move forward to create architecture and urbanism that has a more positive impact on the world around us. There’s never been a better time than now to realise these ideas.⠀ __ We have big plans for 2020 and look forward to sharing them with you this week. We urge you to join us. __ Link in Bio for ways to still support our beautiful Australia. __ Photography: Dale Appleton, DELWP⠀ __ #architectsdeclare #architectsact #carbonneutral #climatechange #bushfirecrisis #australia #actnow @architectsdeclare_au

Brilliant - I hope ambitious plans are being championed equally by design/building authonties/ councils/developers/builders. In order to avoid replicating obsolete and wasteful 'traditional' typologies and practices, there is dialogue about radical yet rational and beautiful, and TRULY sustainable architecture and material use. Biodesign and the factoring-in of energy/water capture/storage and more efficient usage. Perhaps growing of food... waste minimisation. Neighbourhood collectives, urban blocks having the potential to create and maintain 'mini grids' of essential services, food production etc🌊

Maybe archiblox could design a solution to rebuild/ chopper in the huts that have all burnt in the high country. Not sure if it is physically possible.... but it would be great

I am really looking forward to what you’re proposing. We all need to work as a supported collective and make drastic changes immediately, let me know if you ever need a photographer, happy to contribute. 🙏✨📷

Do not let the propaganda of “arson” as being a significant cause of the fires take hold on the site... Ecologists & fire experts agree: The CAUSE of our fires, of this magnitude & intensity, is Climate Change & drought related to Climate Change. #BewareFarRtPropaganda #Trollbots #FossilFuelBilliomaires
