The World is Not Enough (1999) Bond #19 was the very first Bond movie I ever owned on DVD! Although I do think its underrated, it still has a shite story and a really bad Bond lady. Michael Apted directs his only Bond movie. The budget was 125 million. It went on to make over 360 million. Garbage sings the title song. Which is actually quite a good song I admit.
After billionaire Robert King is assassinated by a terrorist named Renard (Scottish legend Robert Carlyle) Bond is assigned to protect King's daughter Elektra (the absolutely gorgeous Sophie Marceau) from Renard. Soon he discovers a sinister twist involving Elektra and Renard which I won't spoil. As for the main Bond lady, Christmas Jones. She's played by Charlie Sheen's ex Denise Richards. Yeah she looks great. But fuck me her acting is awful in this! Not one of her lines is said convincingly. Robbie Coltrane (Goldeneye) returns for his 2nd last Bond movie. Also starring is music producer Goldie for some reason. This one also marks the last appearance of Desmond Llewelyn as Q. The actor died shortly after finishing the film. He had appeared in every Bond movie except Dr. No and Live and Let Die. He would be replaced by comedian John Cleese after this, who also has a small appearance in this one as well. And of course Judi Dench (fuck off with that Dame shite) and Samantha Bond both return as M and Moneypenny. Dench is my favourite M!
Yeah. It ranks at number 15 on my list. I do quite enjoy it. Plenty of fun action. And Brosnan is far better as Bond than his haters say he is. It also contains the longest pre titles sequence in Bond history, running 16 minutes. And it contains one awesome slow torture scene involving Elektra straddling a tied up Bond while slowly strangling him. He's one lucky bastard haha. Especially because actress Sophie Marceau is stunning! I wouldn't say no to be being killed that way 😉😉 yeah, it's not the worst film. Just a shit story. And lead actress.

The World is Not Enough premieres in theaters at #1 with a $35.5 million opening weekend. It would fall a week later to Toy Story 2. The title is taken from a line in the 1963 novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, which is revealed to be the Bond family motto. Peter Jackson was interested in directing the film but was turned down. The movie concluded a three-film product placement deal with BMW. On a budget of $125 million, it would go on to make $126.9 million domestically.
Twenty years ago, I was anticipating two movies that ended up coming out on the same day. When I found out they came out the same day, I didn’t know what to do because I didn’t think I’d be able to choose. I told my father the bad news and he shrugged. “Why don’t we just see both?” I could hardly believe it. The times matched up, but we’d have to hustle between movies as to not miss anything.
The first of these two was “The World Is Not Enough”. Brosnan tends to get a lot of shit for his movies and how ridiculous they were as if no Bond movie before was. I’ll admit “Die Another Day” is pretty bad but even that has some sequences in it better than anything in “Quantum if Solace”. Brosnan seems edgier in “TWINE” and the score is one of the best of the 90s. I think what throws people about this is Denise Richards. Yes, she’s pretty terrible but Sophie Marceau makes up for it. Richards’ character seemed like a throwback to the Bond girls of the 70s. She’s still not as bad as the skier in “For Your Eyes Only”. Sheesh.
Regardless, this movie will always be special to me because of the anticipation up to seeing it and, of course, the double feature I had that evening. While I can’t exactly replicate the conditions (it’s Tuesday, the movies came out on a Friday), I’ll be watching the other half of the double feature when I get home tonight. It was a great night and one of the most formative in my film watching history.

STARSHIP TROOPERS (1997).

Ever since Lisa Vanderpump, announced her departure from The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, fans have been left in the dark about what to expect. Now, Andy Cohen, 51, is finally speaking out on what life will be like in the 90210 and it sounds like it will not disappoint. “We’re in the middle of shooting and it’s very dramatic and it’s unusual that we got the women together while they’re shooting,” Andy told HollywoodLife at the first annual BravoCon in New York City. “Certain alliances have shifted. There’s been a lot of new friendships and friendships that have dissolved, and I think people are going to be really surprised to see where it’s gone.”
Worshipping Denise Richards from Drop Dead Gorgeous today and everyday! 😍❤️😍❤️😍 “To live in a country where you can take an ugly old mountain and put faces on it, faces of great Americans who did so much to make our country super great. Well, that makes me Rebecca Leeman, proud to be an American.” 😂😂😂😂😂
