Ozark’s Jason Bateman Has Been Acting Since He Was Young
The actor, director, and producer continues to awe his audience.
Jason Bateman is no stranger to success. His acting career started in childhood and included recurring roles on Little House on the Prairie, Silver Spoons, and Knight Rider. He became the DGA’s youngest director at age 18 and has since won a Golden Globe for the work he did on Arrested Development. Talent runs strong in the Bateman family as Jason’s sister, Justine, also acts.
Winning at Life and Winning Awards:
Bateman’s work on the show Ozark won him the Screen Actors Guild Award. Playing the role of Martin “Marty” Byrde wasn’t enough for the talented man. He also directed episodes and acted as executive producer of the show. It continues to be a fan favorite on Netflix to-date.
New Year and New Roles:
With each new year, the seasoned actor finds himself landing many roles in films and TV series. He’s even provided narration for Pump, A Lego Brickumentary, and Growing Up Fisher. There isn’t much he cannot do as he has proven throughout the years. His list of credits is exceptionally long, demonstrating that he is multi-dimensional as an actor.
Bateman has even played himself in many instances. He’s such a well-known star that he represented Jason Bateman on the Muppets and Nobodies. Proving that he has legitimate star power, his long list of award nominations provides a glimpse into the quality of work he brings to the industry.
What the Future Has in Store for Bateman:
The future continues to look bright for Bateman, who constantly accepts new roles each year. Acting is part of who he is as a person and directing and producing come naturally to him. He went from a teen heartthrob to a bonafide actor with cred as demonstrated by the work done on many movies and shows, particularly Ozark.
#GameNight #JonathanGoldstein #JohnFrancisDaley #JasonBateman #RachelMcAdams #KyleChandler #JessePlemons
Little indie 15 y.o me lived and breathed this movie, and I gotta say, it’s certainly aged better than some of my other teenage favourites #repost
Arrested Development: Season 1 (2004-2005) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together”. This might sound like a redemptive family drama but, in the hands of creator Mitchell Hurwitz and director duo The Russo Brothers, it turns out to be quite the opposite. Arrested Development might in fact be the funniest thing ever put on tv and granted, my experience with watching sitcoms is little to nonexistent. But this is the type of show where everything simply clicks. The writing is phenomenal with all the aspects of the dysfunctional Bluth family presented in all their masquerading glory, and the eldest son Michael (Jason Bateman) trying to keep some of the dignity in the family by taking over the family’s business after the father, George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) is sent to prison, all the while keeping an eye on his son’s, George-Michael (Michael Cera in his debut) education, who himself experiences an unavoidable love crush on his cousin, Maeby. The family’s matriarch, Lucille is oblivious to their own issues and her dissatisfaction with son Buster is both silly and funny. But in terms of supporting actors, the ones that have their biggest LOL moments are Will Arnett as the womanising amateur magician Gob and David Cross as the very eccentric doctor turned wannabe actor Tobias (who has some of the most hilarious scenes in Tv history). Yet tying everything together is Bateman in a career making performance as a lead, with his deadpan delivery of dialogue and sympathetic screen presence. His one on one confrontations with brother Gob over the women in their lives and the relationship with his son is what makes the show truly standout. With narration from Ron Howard, guest actors that range from Liza Minnelli and Carl Weathers to Amy Poehler and Julia Louis Dreyfuss, this is comedic gold, full of personality and realistic humour. Perfect in every aspect.
Game Night is one of the most fun comedy movies I’ve ever seen. It has equal doses of laughs and thrills, something that’s rare in a comedy film. I’m also happy to report that the movie lived up to my expectations set by the trailer. Rachel McAdams stole the show with her bubbly, enthusiastic performance, and made the movie more enjoyable than it already was. I highly recommend seeing Game Night while it’s still in theaters.
