I'M shaking now as I write this but I seriously had to keep my composure on the 3 train just now. I just came in. Sat. Looked at my surroundings and BOOM! My eyes brightened, as his blinked with confirmation. I then wanna scream for joy. I wanna cry a little. I wanna find my pen and get an autograph. I don't wanna make a scene. I wanna leave him alone. But omg. I remained patient and my stop was next. What kind of wuss would I be if I didn't at least try?! So on the low-low I mouth "May I have a picture?" Of course, if he would have said no, my heart would've broken lol but he didn't!!!!
YAY!!! I gotta picture & a hug and a few moments to let him know he's the man and how much I appreciate he's talent and works.
Thank you. I am honored to have met you @michaelchalll

THE REPORT (2019)
The story of Daniel J. Jones, the lead investigator on a senate study into the extent of the CIA’s lies and brutality during their ineffective torture program in the aftermath of 9/11, and his fight to get the truth out.
Not gonna lie this was incredibly up my alley. I’m a sucker for these matter-of-fact blistering political investigatory thrillers.
This was riveting, full of incredibly natural performances and a blistering screenplay that doesn’t dumb down the material.
It’s an extremely important story about not forgetting the mistakes of the past, and a tribute to a seriously great man.
Adam Driver is maybe the best I’ve ever seen him here, and if he’s supposedly even better in Marriage Story I cannot wait for that film.
Annette Bening absolutely disappears into her role as well.
Loved this. (4.5/5)

The Report non fa sconti a nessuno: CIA, repubblicani e democratici, uomini dell'amministrazione Obama, giornalisti.

Batman: Black Mirror
Director: David Fincher
Summary: When Jim Gordon announces his retirement as Commissioner of Police is nearing, he reveals to Gotham City that Harvey Dent has fully healed himself from his incident as Two-Face nearly a decade-and-a-half ago and is now going to be mayor, vowing to protect Gotham from the sickness of crime that plagued it for many years. However, when a new crime ring is created with the goal of selling dangerous supervillain memorabilia, Batman/Dick Grayson works with on-again-off-again lover Oracle/Barbara Gordon and estranged partner Red Robin/Tim Drake. As his last act of heroism in his fading days, Gordon tries to apprehend the leader of this organization, a man wearing a gas mask whom only goes by The Dealer, however, Gordon is met by The Dealer. He’s infected with a dangerous bio-chemical, which slowly deteriorates his health to the point of putting him in a state almost as if he’s fighting a cancer. Realizing his days are numbered with very few left, Gordon goes to the decrepit abandoned Wayne Manor and goes to say his goodbyes. He manages to make peace with Grayson and his niece before collapsing, going into a coma. Grayson, as Batman, with Drake as Red Robin, work tirelessly to find The Dealer. They do, and learn he’s the psychotic homicidal James Gordon Jr., son of the famous commissioner. They apprehend him after a lengthy test of mind and strength. He gives them a cure and Batman hands him over to the GCPD. However, arriving at the Batcave, Gordon awakes from his coma, only to tell Grayson and his niece to simply let go of him and to move forward with their lives. Reluctantly, they do, and Gordon dies peacefully. The film ends with Gotham finally at peace over the many years of chaos and crime.
The Report (2019)
'The Report' sees Senate staffer Daniel J. Jones (Adam Driver), tasked by his boss to lead an investigation into the CIA's post-9/11 'Detention & Interrogation Program' where he uncovers shocking secrets.
Like 'Official Secrets' last month, I knew the basics of the premise and story focus but not really any of the specific details. However with its slow burn pacing, plot progression and story structure 'The Report' keeps you well informed and engaged throughout with the film being all dialogue focused you do have to pay attention to the details but due to the premise and performances that isn't an issue for the majority of the time, however there are certain sequences that do hit you with too much exposition and due to the structure of the film it does get slightly repetitive and I can understand if people do lose track of the various situations and names mentioned throughout.
The film utilises flashbacks very well, he colour grading and way they are shot differentiates them from the current story playing out so that the viewer never get's confused of when and where each scene is set. These flashback scenes add context and information to an already detailed plot and also really don't shy away from the horrific and brutal torture interrogation techniques that were carried out, the frantic editing and handheld camerawork really help add authenticity to these moments. The film is shot well but there is nothing really remarkable or unique about it from a visual standpoint, which obviously has a lot to do with the fact that its based on real locations and going for realism over stylistic choices, but aside from the cast there is nothing to really help it standout against other films within the genre from a purely visual perspective. The cast and performances are good here. Adam Driver is excellent as Jones, he is completely dedicated and invested in his job and in getting making this report perfect, seeing him become more and more obsessed and drastic in his actions is very engaging. Annette Benning is also good as Senator Feinstein, she has a commanding screen presence...
