What’s up WHOOP Members! @Will Ahmed here, Founder & CEO of WHOOP. Yesterday, we were excited to reveal one of the new features we’ve been working on for some time now – the Performance Profile, where Members can now see lifetime stats and streaks.
I’ve got a data streak going of 1,372 days over 3.75 years – the longest of anyone on WHOOP. I’ve logged 1,293 activities (which is not the most on WHOOP) my most common being weightlifting and squash. Fun fact: I played in college and was a huge part of the inspiration behind the product. I can’t wait to see how these numbers change over the next couple weeks, months and years. I’d love to hit a sleep streak of 60 days!
Part of the fun of the Performance Profile is looking back on the bad days too. My lowest recovery ever came after the flu and my lowest HRV after a hangover (pre-sober October).
Questions for me about my Performance Profile, my day-to-day routine, the future of WHOOP or the recent fundraise? Head over to our story and drop whatever’s on your mind before 1PM EST. Later this afternoon I’ll be posting some responses.
Now I want to know, what does your Performance Profile look like? Let us know your stats or streaks below.
The longer you’re on WHOOP, the more you realize the value of the consistency. Ever wonder what committing a month, a year or five years to optimizing performance with WHOOP looks like?
With the NEW Performance Profile, you can see all the stats you’ve collected since day 1 on WHOOP. Find motivation in seeing how far you've come and set future goals to achieve longer streaks of positive trends on WHOOP!
Swipe right from your overview page to see the update, which includes brand new displays featuring:
STREAKS: How many green recovery days can you get in a row? See your all-time streak and challenge yourself to increase it.
ALL-TIME AVERAGES: See your average HRV and RHR from all data collected on WHOOP.
TOTAL ACTIVITIES: See your top activities logged on WHOOP and encourage yourself to try new ones.
Swipe up in our story to read more about this exciting new feature and stay tuned for more tomorrow as WHOOP CEO and Founder, @willahmed, breaks down the details of his Performance Profile! #thatswhatcounts

Meet CPT @Ashley S., an active duty intelligence officer and WHOOP Tactical Athlete.
Ashley started CrossFit in 2009 with the goal of building upper body strength but it didn’t take long before her goals grew bigger, too. After arriving at her first duty station in Fort Bragg, NC, she joined CrossFit Fort Bragg and competed on their regional team in 2013 as her first ever CrossFit competition.
Since then, Ashley continues to compete and has been busy training and recruiting for the Army, becoming a new mom, and managing her own Army career. Ashley says, “WHOOP has helped me personally become more aware of my sleep patterns and accountable for my recovery. My workout intensity varies from session to session, but being able to see how much sleep I have gotten and how it contributes to my recovery really helps me to maximize my training.”
Ashley, WHOOP is so impressed by you and honored to have you as a part of our community! This Veteran’s Day, WHOOP would like to extend a special thank you to those who have served and those who continue to serve. We appreciate you today and every day #happyveteransday

What is HRV?
Heart rate variability, or HRV for short, is a measure of your autonomic nervous system used by WHOOP to calculate your daily recovery score! Considered one of the best objective metrics to quantify physical fitness and readiness to perform, we’ve broken down the science behind the stats and answered these FAQs in our Ultimate Guide to Heart Rate Variability:
• What it is, what causes it, how it's measured, and why it's an indicator of fitness
• What's a normal HRV for you and why trends matter
• Factors that affect it and how to improve it
• How to use HRV to train smarter and more efficiently
• Why WHOOP tracks HRV during your deepest period of sleep each night

Thank you to everyone on Team #soberoctober who participated in this weekend’s challenge! Through meditation and yoga, the WHOOP community was able to raise a total of $5,000 for our friends at Namastay Sober!
Did you miss your chance to meditate this weekend? It’s not too late! Swipe up in our story to learn more about Namastay Sober’s mission, memberships and learn how you can make a donation!
WHOOP is honored to work with partners like @namastaynicoletta, @justin_holmes_fit and the rest of the @namastaysober team to build better communities founded on inclusion, acceptance and mindfulness.
“We believe that everyone is recovering from something. Somethings are more socially acceptable, some things aren’t.” - @namastenicoletta, CEO & Founder of NamaStay Sober
Don’t forget, today WHOOP will donate $1 to NamaStay Sober for every 10+ minute meditation or 20+ minutes of yoga logged in your WHOOP app and will be reposting your #WHOOPLive meditation and yoga submissions in our story!
For Program Success Director, @justin_holmes_fit, Namastay Sober allows him to build a community that supports those working through the process recovery – whether it be themselves or as an ally to a friend or loved one.
Watching those closest to him struggle with addiction throughout his life, Justin knows first hand that connections built by moving together are the strongest. “There is freedom in fitness,” he says.
What would Justin say to someone just starting out in meditation? “Close your eyes and listen. See what you can see without sight.”
Don’t forget! This weekend, WHOOP will donate $1 to NamaStay Sober for every 10+ minute meditation or 20+ minutes of yoga logged in your WHOOP app and will be reposting your #WHOOPLive meditation and yoga submissions in our story!
WHOOP is humbled to have people like Justin as part of our community. Keep up the amazing work @justin_holmes_fit 🙏
After losing a close friend to addiction, @Nicoletta Longo put on a yoga event to bring together a community and fund a scholarship in his name. After seeing the overwhelmingly positive response to what she was doing, @NamastaySober was born.
NamaStay Sober is a Boston-based charity whose mission is to aid those recovering from addiction by reconnecting their bodies and minds through complimentary yoga and fitness memberships. By becoming a member at a local yoga studio or boxing gym, participants are given access to create a new, healthy lifestyle alongside a group of their peers – sober or otherwise, because everyone is recovering from something.
This weekend, WHOOP is asking Team #soberoctober to participate in our final challenge of the month and support the mission of Namastay Sober. Today through Sunday (10/27), WHOOP will donate $1 to NamaStay Sober for every 10+ minute meditation or 20+ minutes of yoga logged in your WHOOP app. To start an activity, you can visit the left-hand menu, tap “Start Activity,” and choose your activity. You can also log it after the fact by selecting “Add Activity.”

Throughout #soberoctober, our eyes have been opened to a large part of the WHOOP community that looks at sobriety as a lifelong commitment rather than just 31 days. Along with all of you, WHOOP Member, professional skateboarder and longtime friend of WHOOP @neenwilliams has been sober for the past 5 years.
“It took me injuring myself to realize that I was going down the wrong path,” he says, reflecting on the days when balancing partying and his pro career was a struggle. After tearing his ACL, Neen took control of his sobriety and learned more about the person he didn’t know he was at the time – a fitness and wellness guru, a businessman, and an expert in living and learning through the power of recovery.

”🔥 track/speed workouts this marathon training cycle from Paris to LA to the Cayman Islands and everywhere in between
Can’t say all of em went ~great~ but wanted to share a few of my favorite from this training cycle c/o @whoop which helps me track and manage my workouts. We often don’t see the fitness improvements immediately but when we combine both the data + the innate “feel” of the workout we can get a better understanding of how our body is responding physiologically over time. These speed workouts get progressively harder as you go, pace chart is at the end. Have fun 💫🏃🏾” @Chicago Marathon

Most athletes know better than to go out drinking the night before a competition, but many wouldn’t think twice before knocking back some casual beers three days out. After all, come game time, BACs are back to zero and the hangover is a distant, albeit unpleasant, memory, right?
WHOOP took 148 student-athletes representing 11 teams across 6 sports and monitored their heart rate and HRV as they slept off debaucherous nights of college drinking. While we weren’t surprised to see subpar statistics from drinkers when compared to non-drinking teammates, you may be surprised to learn how long the implications of alcohol persist!

Interwoven in the fabric of the Gym Jones mentality is the idea that, “Mind Is Primary.” What does that mean?
“When we train the mind, we have the opportunity to push past our perceived physical limitations. We are willing to accept and enjoy ‘“suffering’” so that the physical work in the gym is not hard. We train our weaknesses and believe in constant and ruthless self assessment. We demand a lot from our peers, ourselves and our clients. But in doing so, we create an atmosphere where people are capable of being vulnerable and challenging themselves in ways that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to do alone. We take responsibility for our thoughts and actions and are constantly pushing the boundaries of what we are physically and mentally capable of. We believe in the creation of community and culture. We bring each other up and believe in leading by example.”

From 2003 to now, Gym Jones has exploded from a small training group of martial artists and military assets in Utah, to the go-to programming powerhouse for Hollywood cast and crew – most famously, helping the cast of the movie 300 get their Spartan-like physiques.
The name, Gym Jones, is more than just a cheeky play on words. It’s a testament to the gym’s core values of willingness and devotion to the idea that “Mind is Primary”. Defining fitness as “the ability to do a task,” Gym Jones trainers believe that all training programs follow a progression:

AMA 🎤 Six-time CrossFit Games athlete, founder of @revivalstrength, and long time WHOOP user @MARCUS FILLY is answering your questions on anything from training to meal-prep as part of this weeks #WHOOPU education series!
Marcus’s favorite part of WHOOP? The sleep data! He says, “it has been instrumental to me in navigating life as a parent these past 2.5 years and still getting the most I can out of my body in the gym. As a fitness coach and athlete, I've been able to conduct a lot of experiments in and out of the gym to truly understand where the line between performance training and training for life is. Because I have played both sides of that line as a Professional CrossFit Athlete, and as a father/business owner, WHOOP scores and strain data have helped me to develop different training models for the different athletes I cater to within my coaching business.”
Head over to our story to leave a question for Marcus and pick up a couple #protips to help you kick your week off right!
