Prof. Terzagi gives an example of a building built on wet clay and silt. The foundation of this building lay relatively at a great depth. Under one part of the building there was a continuous plate without piles, the other part of the building was based on piles. Both parts of the building were given so uniform sediment that there were no cracks on the border of two different types of attenuation even to the plaster of the building.
