If your pipe is asbestosae, then you need to isolate the outer part of the pipe. That part of the pipe that is above your attic ceiling. It is better to cover such pipes with brick. They are laid between a metal casing (rim) and the outer surface of the asbestos -cement pipe. The diameter of the rim is taken such that between the pipe wall itself and the free distance metal is more than 60 mm.
